Storm the Stairs Series

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and what better way to help us raise money to support Solomon's Song than to join us in a series of 4 stair climbing challenges in the Winona Area.

The registration fee is $15 for each event with $10 of each event registration fee being a tax-deductible donation. You can also choose to make an additional donation or be a personal fundraiser; set a goal, spread the word, and raise money towards this great cause and even bigger prizes.

This year's format will be virtual...with a twist. Instead of getting 1 hour to go up and down each set of stairs as many times as you can, you'll get one month to tackle each of the bluff stairs and whoever gets the most laps (complete trip up and down) in that week will be crowned Prince and Princess of the Stairs.

Complete all 4 bluff stairs for a chance to be King and Queen of the Stairs

Can't get to the Winona, MN area? 

We have a "Climb Anywhere" option. So go ahead and find some stairs where you live and start climbing.  You get all of September to gain as much elevation as you can on a route in your area. We'd prefer that the route is 50% or more stairs since this is a stair climbing challenge.

 

How to Participate 

How you approach this challenge is up to you! Register for just one of the bluff stair venues or give yourself a challenge for the month of September and register for two, three, or all four of them. If you're unable to head to the Winona area, join in on the Climb Anywhere event. Head to each stair venue one time or seven times in the month of September for an hour or maybe several hours each visit. It is all up to you....and your calves :)

After you're done with each visit to the stairs, come on back to the race page and enter your results for the visit. You will be able to continue entering results throughout the month and the page will keep a tally on where everyone is in the rankings.

Don't forget you can make additional donations or join our fundraising efforts and signup as a personal fundraising partner. Together we can support Solomon's Song and Suicide Prevention Awareness.

 

Prizes 

Working with our friends at Compass Ceramics in LaCrescent, MN, we are creating a unique award set for each participant. For each event you register for you will receive an awesome custom bowl with a logo representing that particular set of stairs. Each bowl is unique so make sure you enter all 4 local events to collect the set. If you are doing the Climb Anywhere event you will get a Storm Trail Race Series bowl.  You can donate or join us in our Fundraising efforts and raise $25 for each event and you will get a custom mug.  Since this is a 4 event series if you register for all events and donate/fundraise over $100 total, you'll get the set of 4 bowls and 4 mugs with unique logos for each set of stairs.  Climb Anywhere participants can also join the fundraising and for $25 or more you will get a bowl and mug set as well.

The top male and female stair climbers for each event will receive a mug and to the overall stair climbers who earn the King and Queen of the Stairs will get custom made beer steins!!!
